Carbon Neutral Energy From Coal

We have developed a robust coal fines conversion programme that will eliminate on-site storage of coal fines, with the eventual removal of all historical dumps.

The system upgrades the fines materials, removes sulphur and heavy metals, generates base-load energy and captures all GHG gases which are then directed to a Fischer-Tropsch system to support production of carbon-neutral methanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Additional hydrogen required for this activity is sourced from a modular decentralised catalytic system, at lower cost compared to conventional hydrogen production technologies.

The full system allows for the release of Rare Earth Elements from the by-products, and the total clean-up of mine process water.

Expect a massive reduction in release of GHGs, contamination of water bodies and release of dangerous particulate matter emitted when the stored fines material spontaneously combusts.
